I too thought i would have to have them replaced. Bleach can be used to clean granite but if the corrosive liquid is allowed to sit too long on the material it can eat through the protective layer of sealant. Yes clorox regular bleach 2 is safe for sealed granite countertops. Depending on how long you plan to stay in your rental the bleach stain may fade after time as the granite absorbs other things through countertop use.

A bleach stain on a black granite countertop is unsightly and has more than likely removed the top protective coating over the natural stone. Using a granite sealer like granite gold sealer start by cleaning your granite then spray the sealer on the stone in three foot sections. I also had a bleach stain on my black granite countertop.
