02 Passat Will Lock Doors But Not Unlocking

Not really logical but thought worth the try.

02 passat will lock doors but not unlocking.

The battery is likely dead and needs to be replaced but the remote s may also need to be reprogrammed to work. Arriving at my destination the rear door would not open from the outside intermittently. Tested door 4 times locking and opening from inside and out. The remote keys won t unlock the doors but will open the boot.

This issue also indicates a bad lock actuator. Ordered an aftermarket lock assembly and replaced unit. Ok everyone sort of a new issue. Until 2 days later.

When the other doors are unlocked the faulty door makes an unusual noise as if something is trying to move but can t. C locking was working but ds rear door not locking are unlocking then drivers door and ps rear doors jamed not to read more. The door lock works in only one direction. So i went into the mfd and changed the default from unlocking only the driver s door to unlocking all the doors.
